If
you're the kinda person who likes being scared sh!*less then
The Evil Dead is the film for you.
It is packed with chilling atmospheric tension from start to
finish
that constantly makes you feel on edge.
The story starts off with a group of teenage friends getting a
cheap
holiday in an old log cabin in the woods of Tenessee, America.
They
discover an old tape recorder which when played, recited back the
demon ressurection incantations and unleashes the terrifying
spirits
of The Evil Dead. One by one the teenagers are possessed by the
evil
spirits and turn on their own with a hunger for flesh. One sole
survivor, Ash, lasts long enough to fight them all off until The
Evil Dead strike one last time.
For a film made in 1982 when computer special effects were
virtually
non-existent, it's gore scenes are spectacular using make-up and
other
materials to make the flesh look hideously realistic!
The sounds used for the evil spirits themselves are blood
curdling
and make you very nervy. From the blood curdling screams of the
evil
spirits to the flesh-torn bodies of the terrified teenagers, The
Evil
Dead is a film that 16 years on, still beats any horror film made
today.
